I am a mosaic glass artist who has recently discovered alcohol ink...
I'm sure, like most artists, I had the desire to create from a very young age. I don't think you can outgrow that. Sure I've drifted away from painting at times, maybe even months but I've always gone back. I love when I am so involved in whatever I am doing that the hours fly by and at the end of the day (or week, or month) I have something unique, the only one on earth like it, and I created it. Fun! Watercolor and pen and ink were my main choice for many years until I discovered glass on glass mosaics (2013) and then most recently alcohol ink (2015).
I am presently living in Nova Scotia, my place of origin. My parents moved the family to Alberta when I was only five years old. I spent most of my life living in the beautiful town of Banff and working in the tourist industry. I now have more time for playing with glass and alcohol ink and am thoroughly enjoying it!
My mosaics and alcohol ink paintings are all original works of art. For my mosaics I often sketch directly on the glass, then break or cut sheets of stained glass, adhere them with special glue and finally grout it. Sometimes I work on old windows or else they are framed in wood or metal and are ready to hang.
Most of my alcohol ink paintings are very small, 3"x6" or 4"x4" and done on Yupo paper and adhered to tiles or sometimes painted directly on the tiles. To purchase an original please feel free to contact me for details.
