About Catherine Van Der Woerd
CATHERINE VAN DER WOERD, MOSAIC ARTIST I was born in Halifax and returned to Nova Scotia in 2013 after spending most of my life in Banff, Alberta working in the tourist industry. I enjoy my summers by the Bay of Fundy in Harbourville and my winters by my cozy wood stove in Clementsvale. I’ve always enjoyed creating art and playing with different mediums before finding my passion in mosaic stained glass. In between mosaic projects you might find me painting with the vibrant colours of alcohol ink. I love nature and I am always inspired by my surroundings!

I assume this is the copper foil technique. The work of stained glass is so labor intensive amd requires more forethought and process work than most other spontaneous pursuits. even a developmental piece has to be crafted over longer periods and the execution is pretty tough sledding
Catherine Van Der Woerd replied:
No, not copper foil, but grout. I do them from my own sketches or designs. I don't have the patience for traditional stained glass and I have a lot more fun creating mosaics. Thanks for checking them out David!

This would look amazing in an old church, art, or historical building! I love trees, Catherine, and this work really "speaks" to me! I hope that the "Sales Ferry" visits you very soon and is generous!
